Torino City Lab, the innovation incubator promoted by the City of Turin in the smart mobility concept development, has recently approved the newly implemented validation protocol developed by Danisi Engineering in collaboration with Addfor and ADConsulting. The protocol is focused on the software based recognition of the road and scenario operated by the vehicle. Through advanced simulations of the most involved systems, it is able to validate the behavior of the perception/recognition software aboard the vehicle in specific use cases like dangerous situations identification with real time decision making, weather related road conditions with prediction of the grip level, real time evaluation of the status of horizontal and vertical signs for mapping of the maintenance needs, autonomous recognition of potholes and roadworks.
